On February 13, 2017, teenagers Abigail Williams (13) and Liberty German (14) were murdered while hiking near the Monon High Bridge Trail in Delphi, Carroll County, Indiana. Liberty's smartphone captured video and audio of a man on the bridge, including the words "down the hill," which became central to the investigation. Their bodies were discovered the following day approximately one mile from the bridge. The case remained unsolved for over five years until Richard Allen, a local CVS pharmacy technician, was arrested on October 26, 2022.
